Welcome Geno ! Glad you're here and that is an easy question but why were you not told when you bought your boat. Did you get a sample of the outdrive fluid to see if you had any water problems? Well good luck with your new baby. Oh ...it's an Alpha drive.

Thanks so much guys!

No sample. She was owned by a little old man who only drove her on Sundays and she was priced right.

Another question. What is the approximate range of this old girl? 115 hp 3.0.

Your cruise RPM is 3600, which gives you about a 6.5 gph fuel burn rate. My 3.0 1800 would cruise at 36 kts with a 19p prop. Cruised at 40 with a 21p, and 40 was about as fast as I wanted to go in a boat that small.

Range is dictated by speed and sea state. Typical rule of thumb regarding distance is the "rule of 3rd's".

1/3 Fuel to get to destination
1/3 fuel for return trip
1/3 of fuel for emergency

More than than and try to plan a fuel stop.

Hey don't forget to account passengers, gear, and beer or soda. Hope you enjoy the boat.
