First time owner
Good Morning All
After renting a boat in the Fl. Keys my wife & I decided to plunge into ownership.
Been looking for several weeks now & mainly saw junk in our price range.
Found a 89 1700SR that looks like will serve us well. Merc 4 cyl.
Clean solid hull
SOLID floors, needs some work on the seats and trim
Rebuilt-w/ receipts- lower unit including water pump, bearings, hoses etc.
rebuilt carb, new starter, alternator, trim pump.
Seems like the owner spent all of the big $$ on it. His wife likes his pontoon better so he sold this one- seems like a stand up guy so I am hoping he is being straight there.
New wheels/tires & bearings n trailer.
Cover & top look good.
Even came with a new marine radio to be installed.
As my title said, this is my first boat. I have had many cars & motorcycle to throw $$ at, now I get the hole in the water to do that.
Going to looking for the factory manuals and other items.
Also I am an experienced forum user, I will post my newbie experiences to try to help users.
