Default first time boat owner & maxum owner

Hello everybody,

first of all, sorry if my english is not correct (French is my native language).
I'm new here and in the amazing world of boaters.
I just bought a 1997 Maxum 4100 scr 2 weeks ago.
Now I discover that it's much more complicate than I thought to handle the maintenance of it. Specially since I know that they don't build these anymore.
I'm completely lost in this new world and I don't know where to look to find the right information regarding purchasing parts, maintain the engine, interior,...
I really hope I will be able to find some answers in this forum.
long story short: cry for help, message in a bottle...
Thank you very much for reading

Welcome!

There was a similar post recently, but basically Maxum made the hulls, bought the propulsion systems, and utilized a bunch of third party parts to trim the boats out. So parts related to engine and drive can be purchased at any marina or service center that carries your brand of propulsion system (not sure if you have gas or diesel). Other items like 12v / 120v electrical components, lighting, plumbing, interior pieces, etc. can be bought at any boat outfitter or made by an interior shop. Usually you can pretty easily find something that's similar or better than what Maxum used originally. If you have a specific need and would like some assistance, folks here will be glad to help out with thoughts and experiences.

Congratulations on your new boat and best of luck!

Thank you so much for your explanation. Now I understand more the situation.
So I will start to dig in the forum and see what I can find to help in my research.
I have 2 gas engine (Mercruiser 496) in pretty bad shape but I'll work that first.

You’ll find more people on this forum who can help with gas engine questions than diesel. There are a few folks here with your boat model but most have smaller boats. I’m sure you’ll get satisfactory help just need to post specific questions.

Welcome aboard!
