Default Finally bought a boat

55 years old and have been around boats most of my life, and finally bought one of my own... I got a 1993 2100SR... Knowing that it was a project boat(oxidation on the hull, gauges not working, cushions old, dry, dirty, some cracked/seams torn, carpet worn, and engine acting up) I still bought it. Not knowing what to expect from my wife, I brought it home and got that dreaded (Did you think this was a good idea)...
Bought it 3rd week of September (in Pennsylvania, should be the end of the boating season), gave it a quick cleaning, fixed a few things, and took it out... It didn't break down and it didn't sink... Had it out 4 more times, to check my work, ( once at 40 degrees ) and am pleased with the progress.
I'm wanting to replace cushions and carpet over winter months and am on the fence on trying the cushions myself or mailing them to someone to make.
I'll keep you guys posted.

Chris

Chris glad there has not been any issues as that should help win the wife over. I would just find a local upholstery shop for the cushions.

What waters are you boating on in PA?

Default Finally

So far:
Cheat Lake W.V.
Loyalhanna
Mon River at Smitty's Marina

Mostly just testing things that I had worked on and repaired...(speedometer,tach,trim sensors, rebuilt carb)

Can't wait to take to Erie, Presque Isle
If the lake is too choppy, there's plenty of room in the bay...
