New 2900 SE
Hi...I am new to the forum and (about to be) new to my first Maxum. I live in Sydney, Australia and have ordered a new 2900 SE with a heap of bells and whistles...including Axius with Seacore digital engines. Clearly there is a heap of experience in this forum on owning a Maxum, and would appreciate any advice on "gotchas" I should look for when I take delivery in a few weeks time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Wow!! This is fantastic! When I pull this list out in front of the sales guy he will think the handover will never end!! I really appreciate your advice. Are Maxum's "out of the box" prone to have things wrong, or do the Brunswick boys normally do a high degree of testing??

Welcome to the zoo......sounds like Tiglee got you some good info...brunswick usually has a good boat ..but like anything as complicated as a boat...it will have a few things not working properly...however...make a punch list...if anything is not working...maxum is responsible to make it right....although there maybe a few items....check every system and inch .....a good dealer will want to make you happy.....plus if you have a 5 yr bumber to bumper warranty...they will make things good.....
Congrats on the new toy...post some pic's when you can

well, i had to sell one of the kids on ebay to pay for it...so i hope it is worth it Seriously, the sales guy really struggled to berth it during the demo on Sydney Harbour, so it was either a very cunning sales ploy to get me to buy more options, or a demonstration of the problems i may have docking it in to a tight space!

i took delivery in aug 2009 , my boat has the same options, 2900se with twin 305 seacore ,and axius.and vesse lview. i live in eastern canada. the axius system is indeed a great feature. i have been intouch with mercury marine concerning a few adjustments and options i wanted to get installed to make sure they were compatible with the vesse lview on board monitoring system. the guy you will want to talk to is (Tim) 1-405-743-6566. i found a few things right out of the box that needed attention. the vessel view gps was off by 25 degrees. the radio antenna was missing, the white plastic trim which holds the canopy on radar arch needed to be siliconed with clear silicone because once it rained there were plenty of leaks. the silicone worked great. my boat came with vacu flush and 30 gal (132 liter) holding tank, but no level indicator. i checked with mercury marine and they said this one would be compatible. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...ct.do?pid=9338
