Default Alpha 1 Gen 2 stern drive - Exhaust by-pass ports

I'm running an experiment and what to know if temporarily plugging the right and left exhaust by-pass ports on the sides of the gimbal mount to force the exhaust and water to come out of the center of the prop while the boat is out of the water do any damage to anything?

Not sure, never considered doing it. The. Passages are all tied together so I guess that may work but what are you trying to learn from this?

I want to run my boat inside a garage with an exhaust hose connected to the prop outlet to minimize mess and fumes.

Ok like some gas stations do. Curious is this something you plan to do often and if so is there a particular reason for doing it?

Yes, I would like to implement this every year during wintering. I was also wondering if I could use this method to occasionally achieve a nice slow trolling speed while lake fishing as the slowest in-gear speed is too fast. I don't want to buy and install a trolling motor. I could make 2 plugs that I can easily swap out. The lake is nice and warm in summer for a quick dip.

I don’t it would slow the boat down any more for trolling.

Ok, I'll bite. Why inside of the garage where it will be very loud and accumulate CO and exhaust fumes?

Why not out in the driveway and just let it fall the ground and run off like everyone else?

I'm using an exhaust hose to route the exhaust and water outside. That's why I want to plug the gimble exhaust ports. Sometimes I want to run the engine indoors and stay warm and dry while I work without having to pull the trailer out and tie up my limited parking area while I work. I like to work on my vehicles in the down season when it gets dark early and rains a lot, plus I can leave my tools and parts where I left off, lock the door and not have to worry about things getting stolen.

A plastic catch tub with a drain pipe. My muffs attach very tightly and there is very little leakage. I'm hoping most of the water will exit the prop.
