Default 2400 SCR engine options

Hello to all ! New member here.

I’ve been around boats all my life. Have a chance to pick up a 2400 SCR from an estate that has been sitting on its trailer for more than 10 years in the high desert (yes, I know what I’m getting into, have brought boats “back” before).

My question - boat is over 400 miles from me and the people handling the estate know nothing about it. I only have 2 outside pictures. I’m going to put an offer in on it, but what intrigues me is the following -

The drive is a Bravo 2. To my knowledge and recollection, in 1996 the Bravo 2 was only used behind a 7.4L/454 big block. Was that in fact an option, and may I be looking at a rare boat ?

Thanks for the input and I’m sure I’ll be on here more as I bring this one back to life !

I have a 1997 2400 SCR that was factory powered with a 5.7 and a Bravo 2. I’m not aware of the 7.4 as an option in this boat.

Thanks! Couldn’t remember for sure. Boat hasn’t been in the water for 12 years. Will be interesting to see what I find. The offer I made is low enough that I can put a bunch of $$$ in it and not be upside down.
It’ll be the perfect boat for my needs at this time.
